More information extracted from the Halo 3 beta code again, but this time looking at the various gameptypes on offer. There’s mention in the code of sharing game variants, much in the same way we’ll be sharing game videos and clips. More on this soon, as it seems Bungie have big plans for community sharing involving much more than we expected.

Titles and descriptions have not been altered from how they appear within the code.

Invade your opponent’s stronghold, heist their flag, and bring it back to your base to score.
Kill as many of your opponents as you can. The player with the most points wins.
Find the ball and hold on to it to earn time. The player with the most time wins.
Gain control of the hill to earn time. Keep your opponents off and earn the most time to win.
Work together to take down the Juggernaut. Beware, you kill the Juggernaut, you become the Juggernaut, and only the Juggernaut can win.
Find and control the territories on the map. The more territories you control, the faster you earn time.
Destroy the Flood or become infected. Score points for killing flood or big points for infecting a human. The player with the most points wins.
Da bomb!
Protect the V.I.P. from dying at the hands of your opponents. If you are the V.I.P., you must stay alive or your opponents score a point.

More info has also been found over at Hushed Casket, but in a totally different way. Due to a glitch in the Halo 3 beta menu that sometimes appears when playing, gamers have been able to get into the custom games menus and check out all that will be on offer.

Here’s some of the settings found:

Damage resistance
Shield multiplier
Shield recharge rate
Immune to headshots
Grenade counts
Infinite ammo
Weapon pickup disabled
Player speed (25%, 50%, 75%, 90%, 100%, 110%, 125%, 150%, 200%, 300%)
Player gravity (50%, 100%, 200%)
Vehicle use (passenger only)
Motion tracker range (10m, 25m, 75m, 100m, 150m)
– Vis effects (black glow, team glow, white glow)
– Active camo (good camo that might fool an elite, poor camo that might fool a grunt, invisible)
Indestructible vehicles (on, off)

These are at least some of the more intresting settings and there’s many more options inculed on the menus for each gametype. Things like adjusting the settings for Object carriers (Flag, Bomb) and VIP’s, while giving the rest of the team thier own different settings.

A few more new gametypes have been spotted too, including Tank Ball and Tank Flag.

Here’s some saucy screenshots of the menus in action:

Now that’s a lot to process. All that was hinted at in Bungie updates looks set to be included. Adjusting player speed, gravity, visual effects, even the ability to play Halo 1 style with the industructable vehicles! Warthog launch anyone?

How exactly did you get the screenshots?

These shots were taken via a glitch in the beta as it stands now, where players are accidentally taken into the Custom settings menus.

You can’t play any custom games, but you can poke around.

What about finally giving us an option for always elite vs spartans – each start with their own weapons.
