Welcome back… Zanzibar

Love it or hate it (did anyone actually hate it??), Zanzibar is back for Halo 3 in the form of Last Resort.

Not much has been seen of Last Resort so far, except for a couple of leaked videos and the odd screen spotted in the background of Bungie Vidocs… until now.

Here’s a selection of brand new pictures showcasing the re-developed map.

It’s bigger, better and more beautiful than ever before. In fact, it’s simply stunning – and is even more evidence that Halo 3 will look the business when it ships this September. Personally, Zanzibar was one of my favourite maps from Halo 2, and I can’t wait to jump straight back into it.

It’s clear that there’ll be more classic maps making a return in Halo 3, perhaps as downloadable content rather than in the final release. What maps would you most like to see get the next-gen treatment?

SIDEWINDER!

And add Damnation, Prisoner, Rat Race, Chill Out, Danger Canyon, Timberland, Infinity, Gephyrophobia, and Ice Fields (least I think that’s what it was called).

Oh, and from Halo 2: Containment and Headlong.

DAMNATION!!! No map was more pimp than that one, i think it was definately underated. It wasn’t corny with both sides being exactly the same but at the same time each side still was equal. One of the most strategic maps.

zanzibar was one of my favourite maps ever, so I’m happy to see it back in full force for halo 3.
