New single player screen?

Could this be a new screenshot from Halo 3’s single player campaign?

Taken from a recent story in the Wall Street Journal on upcoming video games, here we see the Chief out in the open – in front of a beautiful vista of seemingly epic proportion, that may very well be one of the early campaign levels from the game.

Is this an example of the visual quality we’ll be feasting our eyes on come September? Or perhaps even next week at E3?

I certainly hope so.

It’s freakin’ real.
Super-huge version here. Wowser.

That. Looks. Amazing.

I REALLY hope this is the final quality (or even have better final quality!) because if it is, I will build a time machine and travel forward in time to play the game.

OMFG! Those graphics want to make me cry. Halo 3 is going to be beautiful! I think he is in a Jungle near Mount Killamanjaro. This could be the “Jungle” campaign level that the moders found in the Beta Code.
