Microsoft, Korea and a whole bunch of marketing what the fu…?
Sure it’s funny, but for all the WRONG reasons.
This columnist has no words for what he’s just witnessed.
I’m out of action at the mo for a little while (don’t panic), but we kinda have some beta forums up and running… go take a look – it may help pass the time.
The Hornet is a brand new UNSC flying vehicle that equals the sides in air based combat against the Covenant Banshee, and until now, has yet to be seen in action. With seating for three, a front-mounted machine gun and twin misisle launchers, this bad boy looks all set to tear up multiplayer games come September.
Yeah, that’s right… multiplayer games. Bungie have confirmed that the Hornet would be available in Campaign, but have been sheepish when commenting on it’s availability in multiplayer.
So there’s just one more reason to celebrate in this video… the whole thing has been filmed on the huge vehicular based multiplayer map, Sandtrap.
Thanks to D-Thunda for the heads up.
Ok people, check it out… in the first of two new videos that seemed to have originated over at TheFinalFight.com, we’ve our first proper look at one of Halo 3’s cutscenes – freshly grabbed from the Epsilon.
I think you’ll all agree it looks fantastic, and a lot grittier than before. It’s also comforting to see there’s none of that ugly pop-up texture loading we saw in Halo 2.
Over at the BBFC, where the game content has just been finally rated as a 15, it is also revealed that there are 41 minutes worth of cutscenes in Halo 3 – significantly less than in Halo 2. Don’t worry if that doesn’t sound like enough though, according to Bungie, much more of the story will unfold during gameplay this time round.
This is possibly the best thing i have ever seen.
Now, I gotta say… since i’ve already watched it. It’s freaking unbelievable. Bungie promised us some action and they sure have delivered.
But this really isn’t the way to watch it. It’s a terrible quality video (thanks Youtube), that’s been filmed horrendously… so you may want to give it a miss in order to preserve your viewing pleasure later down the line. This is a warning.
If however, you’re feeling reckless… knock yourself out. It’s still awesome.
The full release can’t be far off, as we’re expecting it to hit any day now. So stay tuned for a higher resolution version when available.
The first video is from campaign, taken from Tsavo Highway and does a good job of demonstrating Halo 3’s next gen prettiness – showcasing the new troop hog and sheer blindness caused from the flare in action, whilst also giving more of a feel for the scale and style of gameplay.
There’s a little extra footage tagged on the end from a multiplayer session that’s worth paying attention to, as it shows the Gravity Hammer in full swing. Awesome sound effect.
The second video is all multiplayer, all Sandtrap, and all good. For the first time we’re able to see just how big a level Sandtrap is – and much like the Elephant featured in the video we posted earlier, much bigger than we had previously imagined. Check out the detail on that Elite model, damn he’s looking nice.
Gamevideos.com has posted two more great looking videos of campaign gameplay. These feature a little more action than the previous vids – gunplay, encounters with Brute Choppers, even a jacking! Check ’em out here and here.
Here’s a couple of Halo related videos found recently that I’ve really enjoyed. They’re not really anything new, but I figured I’d share, for those that may have missed them.
So here’s the commercial currently showing stateside for the special edition Halo 3 Mountain Dew:
and here’s a great little piece of Halo 2 machinima created for Gamestop advertising pre-orders for Halo 3:
It’s a great concept, but I’m not sure i’m able to say goodbye just yet.
