It’s coming. E3 is nearly upon us.
But what are we expecting to get out of it this year in Halo terms? What is it you’d most like to see?
Single Player Campaign?
More Multiplayer Maps?
Elites? The Flood?
New Vehicles and Weapons?
Personally, I’m hoping for a bit of everything, and expecting nothing. That way I can’t fail to be blown away. I guess we’ll see a bit of single player, perhaps in demo rather than video form and hopefully a little more multiplayer too showing off the new next-gen Elite models.
Lets not forget Halo Wars either, which was recently announced to be being shown to the press behind closed doors at the event.

The guys at Bungie really needto siff up the Single player campaign….In the wake of a number of FPS being showcased on the show,Halo 3 Single player campaign might just get an overtly Rudeshock from Irrational’s Bioshock,Valve’s Episode 2 and Crytek’s Crysis…hope they show the medai they have to offer a lot beyond what everyone is actually expecting to offer….I heard that the HAlo 3 presentation is going to be best In Microsoft’s presentation…hope they actually live upto the fact…cause the competititon is certainly stiff

Fuel Rod Cannon,
New Warthog (There is no turret, but it has back seats to hold more teammates.),
UNSC ship (It looks like a jet.),
Detachable elite turret,
Brute sniper rifle,
Covenant ship upgrades (Scarab, Shadow, etc.)
What the Elite will look like,
Large Covenant Mortar gun,
Gravity Hammer,
Radar Jammer,
Jet packs (debatable)
Covenant weapon you may have seen in the “ET tu Brute” ViDoc (Description: Long, pointy, and purple.),
Hunter (enemy) upgrades/changes,
Drone (enemy) upgrades/changes,
4 grenade types (Look for it when the drones come, and later on [It looks like a jelly bean but brought out on the ends some.),
Brute Chopper in action,
Some kind of new equipment that looks like a half circle with a vertical line through it. (I don’t think it is Radar Jammer, but who knows.),
Possibly drivable Pelicans (Pelicans also have some minor changes.)
That is about all the new things to Halo 3 that I could find, that weren’t also in the beta.

In frame 00:02:11.723 you can see so far away that the forerunner ship is in view and in the top left of the frame you can see a covenant ship that is moving and it has to be miles away. The environments are huge
To those who say it looks like halo two I suggest going to frame 00:01:00.507 and look at the detail in the buggers. They have WAY more polygons in them than they did in halo 2.
Other things I noticed are;
Frame 00:01:13.107, what is the piece of equipment the chief is rocking in the upper left hand corner?
Frame 00:01:15.382, look at the bad arse hologram of the prophet on the left. Also we get to see the 4th grenade emblem in this frame.
Frame 00:01:27.982, what is the strange blue thing with and odd yet symmetrical black triangular top coming out of the planet?
Frame 00:01:39.707, warthog with 4 seats.
Frame 00:01:42.157, is just simply stunning; the lighting on the base to the right is amazing! Move slowly ahead you see that we have a new scarab, 2 banshees, some strange new craft, 3 warthogs and a ton of guys in or on each all fighting at once!
Frame 00:01:44.607, shows the arbiter on top of this same scarab with a new gun laying waste to the troops on top.
Frame 00:01:46.707 we see that to the left of this same battle we also have 3 covy drops ships , 3 banshees and what looks like some kind of human battle ship. Keep in mind this is obviously the same place that frame 00:01:42.157 was going on at and the angle was different so that would put 5 banshees, 3 drop ships, the new scarab (with a deck full of guys), 3 warthogs (with 2- 3 troops in each) Some kind of battle cruiser, the strange new craft between the 2 banshees from the right, the chief and the arbiter all in one place all fighting with zero frame drop. SCALE is what halo 3 is obviously about.

also–del360x i can try to find a format for u but i cant do it myself but if u have a 360 u can get the video on the marketplace and then hook up ur hard drive to ur pc which is kinda hard but u can find a tutorial on youtube

ok i think that mysterious new flying vehicle is actually just a drone…idk why it would be bby itself but when i saw it i thought t was some kind of new weird ship…maybe it is a hornet, but i think it is a drone

On this site, the post excavator uncovered (by me, none-the-less) is wrong.
that is the ‘mauler’-a brute shotgun weaker than the human shotgun, but dual wieldable!
like the shotguns in marathon.
The hornet is indeed a human banshee, with a driver, and it can carry 2 passengers on the sides.
The gravity hammer CAN be used, and lunges like the sword.
Except it can smash vehicles anbd send them flying and knock grenades away (maybe even equipment!
Speaking of equipment, we have 4 new ones.
the regenerator (which heals shields)
The flare (which blinds anyone who sees it when deployed.
Invincibility- self explanatory but VERY rare.
and the shield- one of the stationery jackal shields.
A new level is guardian (found in the beta code) which is the spiritual successor to lockout
More new vehicles are transport warthog (in the e3 trailer), the prowler which is a brute hog and the elephant, which is a 3 story tall vehicle!
So far, it only appears on sandtrap, and is a mobile base that ANYONE can drive!
those cool things people found in the custom games for customization-confirmed.
halo 3 features the single most customization EVER in an fps.
Voi is mentioned, so the code was right (which means the flood show up in the 5th level.
Also mentioned is the fact that a second player will play as the arbiter in co-op, and sadly, co-op isn’t confirmed…yet! it’s mentioned though!
The meta-game sounds neat-you get points for killing enemies, the cooler the kills, the more points!
Skulls are back and all their effects can be active at once effectively making the game impossible!
At no point you play as arby in single player (unless in co-op) so that gives us a good idea.
in the preview gravemind is mentioned, but it is cut off-if anyone can read this, please tell!
So a basic story:
chief siezes a covenant ship, etc.
gets new armour, crashes into a jungle.
Makes his way to the ark.
then he goes to high charity (to see gravemind?) then he goes back to halo.
Finally-Forge: the halo 3 map editor
When I heard this i thought “ZOMG!Halo 3 is gonna teh suxxorz!” but no- forge allows you to alter the placement of weapons and vehicles in halo 3.
So it’s gonna be great!

In one of the Spartan Variants you can see the “mauler” being held… it’s what we thought was the “excavator.” Also if you look at one of the custom elites on that same page, he’s holding a HUGE cov. weapon… it looks like a big plasma rifle and it’s firing a big blue burst. Maybe THAT is the real excavator. It’s kind of hard to see. Can anyone tell me what the real deal is there? Great link, by the way, Distinguish.

Of course we get to see the elephant (which is NOT available in forge).
no idea what that green equipment is.
They mention co-op but that will just be about how the second person plays as arby.
they mention 2 levels, ‘Tsavo Highway’ which is the first vehicle based mission in the game.
‘the storm’- i believe this level is where you encounter the new scarab.
If someone could post a link to download that vid, or get pictures of the pages, post a link please.
Also if you speak those 2 languages that they are in, or you know someone who does, translate them.

It may be a biblical reference since the game seems to be a loose metaphor for the Olde Testament Noah’s Arc thingie. The Storm would be the flood in the metaphor… makes sense that they would put flood in that level. I heard somewhere that this is where the flood first appears on Planet Earth and in the Halo 3 game. This game looks pretty fun, can’t wait until the 25th of September. Wooooooooo!
